Call your boss today.
Ticketing Registration is Open
Ticket registration is now open for everyone! You MUST REGISTER by February 6 in order to be eligible for a ticket in the initial disbursement. Tell your friends, your lovers, and your friends’ lovers. All people who want a ticket this year must register, even if you have registered before.
Registration will close for the initial disbursement – it will open again immediately following, and anyone registering at that point will go to the back of the line.
If you volunteered more than 8 hours last year, you should receive an email with your ticket info within the next day – please be patient and check your spam folder. If you don’t hear from us by Friday evening, email email@example.com.
We are also launching a Low Income Ticket pilot program this year, and we encourage you to apply if it is needed.
Check out our Ticketing page for full details about the registration and ticketing process, and don’t forget our Key Dates page for a full list of the deadlines coming up – for instance, our Art Grant submission deadline is this Saturday!
We know ticketing is a complex process – just remember that you are one step closer to diving into Lucky Lake!
New Look for LakesofFire.org
Over the winter our team has been hard at work updating our website and we are very proud of it’s improved look and ease of use.
Check it out, kick the tires for us, and let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org if you see anything we missed!
We’re looking for three new leads to join the Lakes of Fire team!
Our Fire Art Safety Team (FAST) is looking for avolunteer coordinator specific to their department – you don’t have to know anything about fire for this position. You will be working directly with FAST leads, Liz Campanella and Steve the Ghost to manage volunteers for FAST and the Effigy.
Duties include volunteer signup and email communication before the event, collecting sign-in sheets and coordinating with FAST leaders on volunteers during the event, and updating information afterward.
Overall spreadsheet management skills are necessary, good email etiquette, patience and spunk. Overall hours: 25 hours for pre-event and post event. During event: 2-3 hours in total, roughly 30 minutes each day.
Please email email@example.com with questions or interest.
We’re also looking for a lead for the Leave No Trace (LNT) team.
The LNT team lead works with volunteers to make sure the campground looks better than we found it. Duties include assembling your volunteer crews to patrol before, during, and after the event, and remaining after the official close to ensure we’ve grabbed every little feather. The LNT lead also maintains a map of the best and worst areas for future years.
The LNT team lead is expected to be available for the monthly online team lead meetings.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or would like to apply.
The Department of Mutant Vehicles (DMV) is looking for another Lead to work with Michael Frost (Cabbie).
The DMV lead position responsibilities are:
Coordination of the staffing cart order with vendor
Management of cart allocation to staff
Light golf cart repair and refueling (mechanic skills a big plus)
Collecting mutant vehicle registration information (pre-event and during)
Safety inspections of mutant vehicles
Keeping a watchful eye on mutant vehicle activity
Coordinate and manage DMV shuttle service
Tell people to slow down, observe the fire lanes, and enforcement of DMV rules
Time investment pre/post-event: 40 hours
Time investment during event: Depends how much stuff breaks, on the clock almost all the time.
Interested parties should contact DMV@lakesoffire.org for volunteer information.
New Board Members
The G.L.E.A. Board of Directors is pleased to welcome four new Board members for a 3-year term. Please help us in welcoming to the team: Weston “Wes” Sii, Matt “Grumpy Fuckface” Kreuzwieser, Andrea “Captain Blood” North and Bo “Scuba” Lawler.
Much gratitude goes to our outgoing Board Members, “Dirtball Dan” Trevisan and John Groot whose exemplary service during their term as a member of the Board was a wonderful example to us all.
Effigy Design Extension
The Effigy Council has decided to extend the deadline for submissions until February 6. For details, please check out the Effigy page on our fancy new website here!
We, here at info_bot and the LoF Team Leads, love you all, and can’t wait to see your Mythical Creature come out to play on the shore of Lucky Lake!
