LAKES OF FIRE’S TICKETING PROCESS

From  February 15th – March 1st, this is the process to get a ticket:

    1. Register to get a ticket; you must register each year.
If tickets are currently available, go to the ticketing page and click the “Register” button. Remember, tickets are not first come, first serve – you will be placed in a randomized drawing. The initial registration period is several weeks long – if you want to be in the initial allotment of tickets, you must register in that time.
    2. Choose whether or not to become a group manager or to join someone else’s group.
2017ticketing_groups1You may choose to join together into a group of 10 or less with people you find critical to your Lakes of Fire experience.  If you would not go without them, this helps you be placed on the waiting list in contiguous order.
    3. Once a group is created by someone, anyone who wishes to join that group signs up (after registering) by using the group manager’s email address.

The group manager needs to approve every person added to the group this way.

Please note that joining as a group does not affect your odds of getting a ticket in any way.

    4. Wait for the Lottery selection on March 4th.
Registrations (including groups) will be placed in the order they were randomly assigned by the ticketing software.
    5. If you are selected in the lottery on March 4th, you will be notified.  You can then purchase a ticket within the purchase window.
Every registrant whose turn comes through the waitlist can purchase one (1) ticket for themselves. Once tickets are purchased for an account, tickets may be refunded to the waiting list but are otherwise completely non-transferable.
    6. If you are not selected right away, you will be added to the wait list.  Anyone not chosen in the drawing will be informed of their status on the waitlist. As people return their tickets or tickets go unpurchased, tickets will be made available to that wait list. You may check your status at any time by logging in to the Registration system.

To get a ticket once Registration reopens March 4th and afterward:

  1. Register to get a ticket; you must register every year.
If tickets are currently available, go to the ticketing page and click the “Register” button. You will be placed on the wait list behind all people who have previously registered.  As people return their tickets or tickets go unpurchased, tickets will be made available to that wait list. You may check your status at any time by logging in to the Registration system.
  2. If you are selected, you will be notified.  You can then purchase a ticket within the purchase window.
Every registrant whose turn comes through the waitlist can purchase one (1) ticket for themselves. Once tickets are purchased for an account, tickets may be refunded to the waiting list but are otherwise completely non-transferable.

Based on expected demand from previous years, more LoFers will register for the drawing than there are tickets available.

GENERAL REGISTRATION INFORMATION

You must completely register and verify to get any shot at getting a ticket, at any time.  Each LoF attendee must register no more than once and provide their full name and birth date as they appear on a government-issued photo ID.  If your registration is incomplete, it is not considered valid and is therefore not eligible for a ticket offer/purchase.

All ticket offers are non-transferable.

Please have a payment card ready to go when you want to make your purchase. Stripe is our payment processor.

Tickets cannot, under any circumstances, be purchased by an unregistered party. All tickets are non-transferrable.  Please see the section on Drawing and Wait List for more details.

Any person showing up at LoF without a ticket associated with their registration – full name and birthdate – will be turned away. Minors under 18 will not need to present ID at gate; see Minors section below.

Persons unable to provide a standard government-issued ID must contact tickets@lakesoffire.org. The deadline for entry request with no government-issued ID is Wednesday of the week BEFORE the event (7 days in advance) at 12 p.m. EST. All information will be kept confidential.

CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION

LoF Ticketing will send a confirmation of registration when registration is completed to let registrants know that his or her confirmation has been received. Registrants can also check their status at any time by logging into the registration system.

TICKET OFFERS

The ticket offer email from tickets@lakesoffire.org will indicate the deadline by which registrants must make a ticket purchase. The initial window for purchases will be one week from when the ticket offer email is sent. Registrants who do not buy their tickets by the deadline will find their ticket offer rescinded, and the ticket(s) given to the next person on the waitlist. The ticketing system does not allow buyers to purchase multiple tickets for a single registrant.

If your ticket is not purchased, an offer will be made to the next person on the waiting list.

VOLUNTEER TICKETS SALES

MINORS

Please check out the details on our Tickets for Minors page.

GIFTING TICKETS

If you want to gift a ticket to someone, you must coordinate with them outside of the ticketing system.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Notable third-party services used in the processing of tickets are Stripe and various Google products. The ticketing system was created by our friends at the Firefly Arts Collective. Registrants who encounter issues with the use of personal information on these products should notify tickets@lakesoffire.org.

THANK YOU!

Your Lakes of Fire Ticketing Team has spent the last few years working with our friends at the Firefly Arts Collective to come up with the best possible solution for our event. We are constantly working on refining the ticketing process with the input of the Lakes of Fire community. We hope to, year after year, always do better by our participants. Feel free to share your thoughts with tickets@lakesoffire.org. Thank you to all who have weighed in previously!
