TICKET TRANSFERS

TICKET TRANSFERS – UPDATED FOR LOF 2025!

Most tickets to Lakes of Fire may be transferred using Volunteeripate’s ticket transfer process.  This process is new and improved, so keep reading to learn how it works!

The big upgrade is that tickets can now be transferred and paid for entirely on the Volunteeripate site!  So the risk of getting scammed is greatly reduced.  If you pay for a ticket on the Volunteeripate site, you get the ticket!

If you send money via CashApp to some random person on the intarwebz. you’re probably going to get scammed.  No money and no Lakes of Fire.  Sadness.  DON’T DO THAT … PLEASE!

Additionally, any tickets that are put up for public resale by the Ticket Owner will be available on the Volunteeripate dropdown menu at Your Account → Register/Buy a Ticket (see detailed instructions below).

Ticket transfers open for selected ticket types (volunteer, lottery, theme camp directed, and fire sale) on April 19, 2025, at 4:20 PM Eastern Time.  Tickets may be transferred more than once.

Ticket transfers close on Thursday, July 17th, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Ticket Owners have three basic options: a ticket can be gifted to a specific person, sold to a specific person, or put up for public resale to any person who wants it.

  1. The Ticket Owner initiates a transfer on the Volunteeripate site (details below), and choses how they want to transfer the ticket – gift, directed transfer, or public resale.
  2. An email is automatically sent to the Recipient notifying them of the transfer, or the ticket is placed up for resale on a first-come, first-served basis.
  3. The Recipient accepts the transfer by completing payment or accepting the gift ticket, or the ticket is anonymously purchased and transferred to the new owner.
  4. There is a short processing hold on the ticket of about 2 hours after the ticket is transferred.  During this time, the ticket cannot be re-transferred.
  5. The owner/seller receives a refund for their purchase price, unless they gifted the ticket.

After completing payment or accepting a gift transfer, the new ticket holder may purchase additional tickets for minors under 18.

Instructions for Transferring a Ticket

1. Ticket Owner should log in to their Volunteeripate account.

2. Ticket Owner should then navigate to Your Account → Your Details:

From here, click on the “Tickets” button.

Alternatively, the Ticket Owner can navigate directly to Your Account → Your Details → Tickets in the dropdown menu.

3. From the Tickets screen, click on “Ticket Options” (blue bar) to see transfer options:

4. When the “Ticket Options” bar is expanded, the Ticket Owner can select one of three different transfer options:

    • FREE transfer to a designated email address.  Providing an email address will send the Recipient an email offering the ticket at zero cost.
    • PAID ticket transfer to a designated email address.  Providing an email address will send the Recipient an email offering the ticket at the original Ticket Owner’s cost.
    • TICKET RESALE is a new option!  Ticket Resale makes the ticket publicly available for resale to a new, anonymous Buyer on a first-come, first-served basis.  The original Ticket Owner and the Buyer do not need to share any information or negotiate payment.

5. Upon selecting an option, the Ticket Owner will be taken to a confirmation page (TICKET RESALE shown; the others are similar):

If you are sending the ticket to a designated person via gift or paid transfer, please double check the email address you have provided.

6. When the Ticket Owner confirms the transfer, a transfer offer email will be sent to the Recipient.  The Recipient has 48 hours to accept the ticket by completing payment (for gift transfers, only acceptance is needed).

If the Ticket Owner has chosen to sell the ticket via Ticket Resale, the ticket will be made available to the public at on a first-come, first-served basis (to purchase, see screenshot below).

7. To accept the transfer, the Recipient can click on the link in the transfer offer email, or log in directly to their Volunteeripate.

8. The original Ticket Owner will receive a refund when the transfer or sale is complete.  Until then, the Ticket Owner retains ownership of the ticket.

9. If the transfer or sale is not accepted and paid for in 48 hours, the ticket will revert to the original Ticket Owner and no refund will be issued.  The Ticket Owner can then transfer the ticket to a new Recipient, or make it available for sale via Ticket Resale.

To Purchase a ticket offered via Ticket Resale

1. Log in to Volunteeripate

2. From the dropdown menu, navigate to Your Account → Register/Buy a Ticket

3. Click on the green Ticket Resale button:

4. Do not refresh the page.  Offers will automatically update.

GOOD LUCK!
