Community Outreach
Great Lakes Experimental Arts and Lakes of Fire believe strongly in being a force of good in our local communities. We donate to elementary arts education programs not just because we think it’s the right thing to do, but also to do our part to seed the future with the next generation of talented artists.
We have received a number of thank you letters from the Elementary schools we have assisted.

Each year Lakes of Fire supports the Grant Township Fire Department with a donation as a thank you for the continual support they provide The Effigy, FAST and the event.
Additionally, Lakes of Fire’s attendees support the local food pantries by donating around 500 pounds of food every year.
Please bring additional non-perishables (cans preferred) to donate to theAnnual LoF Food Drive during Lakes of Fire! Be sure to drop off any unused/unopened non-perishables on your way out on Sunday.
All food is donated to the Trinity Lutheran Community Food Bank in New Era Michigan. This food bank feeds over 4,500lbs of food to more than 180 families every week – this area of Michigan has one of the highest hunger rates and you can help! The Greeter station will be accepting the food donations during their shifts and exodus. Please help us keep paying it forward.
(Unopened/Unused Toiletries Are Also Welcome!)
Food must be:
- Unopened
- Non-perishable
- Cans are preferred
- No glass please
