ESD JOB Descriptions
Basic Job Requirements
NIMS IS-100
- All ESD Team members need to have their NIMS IS-100 to understand what is expected in the event of a large-scale emergency.
- Before taking the NIMS IS-100 test, you must obtain a SID number from FEMA.
Crisis Intervention Team
CIT Listener
- This position is for Volunteers who have experience with Mental Health First Aid or Crisis Intervention.
- Must show Proof of Certification or Licensure.
CIT MHA
- The Mental Health Administrator is a position for Volunteers who works directly with patients in the Mental Health professions.
- Must show Proof of Certification or Licensure.
The Sanctuary Tent is used by the Listeners and the MHAs.
Fire
Fire I
- The Fire I position is for Volunteers who have completed the FIRE 101 class
- Fire I Volunteers should have a CPR/AED/FA card or greater.
Fire II
- The Fire II Position for Active or Retired Firefighters (Structeral, Woodland, Industrial, Military, ect).
- Fire II Volunteers should have a CPR/AED/FA card or greater.
- Must show Proof of Certification or Licensure.
Fire Cart is not a position but rather a placement for the Fire I or II team member to Volunteer.
Medical
Med I
- This Position is for Medical Volunteers who hold Certs in First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, CNA or EMR.
- Med I Volunteers must have a CPR card.
- Must show Proof of Certification or Licensure.
Med II
- This Position is for Medical Volunteers who hold Certs in EMT-B, Wilderness EMT, EMT-A EMT-P, RN, PLN, NP or MD.
- Med II Volunteers must have a CPR card.
- Must show Proof of Certification or Licensure.
Med Cart is not a position but rather a placement for the Med I or II team member to Volunteer. Med Tent is not a position but rather a placement for the Med I or II team member to Volunteer.
Scribe
- The Scribe is used to take notes regarding visitors to the Med tent and may be asked to answer the emergency radio if needed to do so.
- The Scribe is listed as ‘Accessible’.
Shift Lead
The Shift Lead is a veteran ESD member in good standing and has a strong understanding of all Standard Operating Procedures and Emergency Procedures.
All shift leads will hold a minimum of the FIRE 101 certification and an active CPR/AED/FA card.
