The newsletter is the best place to hear about a new deadline for the first time, but what happens when you want to remember what deadlines are coming up? That is when you should check out the Key Dates & Forms page to remind you of all of the deadlines that are on the horizon and give you links to important forms you may need to fill out. This page gets updated as soon as new links or dates are available to us and we have added tentative dates this year to help keep you in the know in advance.

We want to welcome all of our new leaders and send a warm and grateful thank you to all off the outgoing leads that have given their time and talents over the years. We appreciate all that you have done and look forward to seeing you not working back at home in 2025.
Lakes of Fire finance team is looking to fill the Keeper Position
The Keeper Overview/Description
- Primarily responsible for acquisition, distribution and storage of commonly and bulk purchased items.
- Works with departments to make sure that their needs for common supplies are met and works with a team of volunteers to distribute supplies.
- Gets the best pricing through bulk purchasing and pricing research.

The Finance Team plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and well-being of Great Lakes Experimental Arts, Inc.The Finance Team meets monthly and year-round. They are ultimately responsible for a wide range of duties, encompassing oversight, planning, and risk management. If you are considering building an effigy for our 2025 event cycle here are some important dates to get your ideas in by:
- Effigy Full Submission-December 31, 2024
- Effigy Council Decision-February 2025

2025 Logo Submission
Are you looking to put your mark on Lakes of Fire 2025 but swinging a hammer or power tools really isn’t your thing? Then you are in luck we are looking for design ideas for this years logo, wrist bands, lammies, and stickers. If you have been inspired by this year’s theme then submit your ideas before January 15, 2025.
The logo is something that is shared and used by the community as well as the org for swag and inspiration for gifts throughout the event.
You can find the templates for the different swag designs we are looking for on style guide page. You can email any ideas you have for the logo to swag@lakesoffire.org
Art Grant Update
This year the ArtGrant team has partnered with Volunteeripate to streamline the application process to make all things ArtGrants just that much easier for you. The virtual ink hasn’t dried on the forms just yet but stay tuned for an announcement to be coming out by the first week of December.
To help you with understand the new process the team is hosting a townhall on December 2, at 8:30pm EST. Join us via zoom to get all of your questions answered.
If you are more of an art appreciator than an art creator then make sure you sign up to be an art grant facilitator. Applications will be open from December 2-9.
Want to be more social?
Lakes of Fire is expanding our social media offerings. We are now on Bluesky and will be posting news and important updates that we post on all other socials. If you are looking for a simple news feed from Lakes this might be just the place.
We will soon be offering a discord server for current active members of our community. This will require vetted membership, you have attended Lakes of Fire in the last three years or can be vetted by someone else who has been, in order help to keep it mostly user moderated. We are hoping to launch this early Jan 2025.
At this time we will not be changing any of the other social media offerings that we have. Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram.

Change is the only constant in this world and lately it has felt like there has been a whole lot of it going around. We all see it and feel it and sometimes we want to scream about it and be angry about it too and that is valid and we see you and we feel it too. Right now though in this moment of change what will see us through is community. It is the ones we live in, the ones we choose to be in, and the ones we come together and build intentionally. This burn is about so much more than a party around a lake and I hope we can build something beautiful together in 2025.
