*If a form is located in Volunteeripate, which many are, make sure you are logged into your account before you hit the link. This ensures that you hit the actual form page and not the log-in page.

Where to Buy: Commodification Station

Ice and firewood will be sold at the same location — the Commodification Station — located near Center Camp. Look for signage when you arrive.

Parking

Parking remains delightfully unexciting this year! Different parking lots, same process, same accessible parking located near the front.
If you parked at Lakes of Fire last year –  congratulations! You already know what you’re doing!

Tick & Mosquito Treatment

The property will receive full mosquito and tick treatment one week before the event. Come prepared with personal repellent as well.

RV Black Water Pump-Out

$40 per RV — Cash only.

Our porto vendor will operate an RV pump-out station during Exodus on Sunday. The pump-out location will be designated near the King’s Highway exit. More details will be shared closer to the event.

Dumpsters at Exodus

$5 per bag (donation-based)

Dumpsters will be provided at Exodus. Please pack out what you can and use the dumpsters responsibly. Leave no trace.

Event Location & Entry

We had to wait until the new address was accepted for our new driveway before we could share this information with you.  That happened this past week.

5900 N. King’s Highway, Luther, MI

Enter the event from N. King’s Highway.

Do NOT use the 6 Mile Road entrance. This entrance is closed and you will not be admitted from that direction.

Water

We have a brand-new Class-3 Commercial well on site — drilled and fully approved. The existing house well has also been upgraded to Class-3 Commercial. There are 4 hydrants in total across the property.

Showers

There are 5 total showers available onsite:

  • 3 Standard showers
  • 2 Larger mobility-accessible showers

Placement Map

The site map is in progress and being updated each work weekend as we make improvements on the property. Want to help move things along? Sign up for a pre-event work weekend here.

We will have printed maps on-site for every participant.

Propane

$3.99 per gallon — same price as last year, plus a variable monthly regulatory fee (exact rate available July 1).

  • Tanks under 40 lbs cannot be refilled
  • You must have an account with Crystal Flash to purchase propane
  • New or returning customers must create or reactivate an account before the event

It is Time for The What, Where, When Submissions!

You spend all year planning and plotting, you put your ideas in the theme camp forms, and now it is time to tell the world what shenanigans you plan on bringing.

We are later than usual for all the things, and we appreciate you all being patient.  This year, we will not be printing any WWWs for participants, so we have more time to produce it and share a printable version for everyone before the event.  Also, those printer cost savings have gone to help purchase an in-house printer, so we can have the ability to print on demand.

The deadline for inclusion in the printable version of the WWW is June 22, 2026 at 11:59 EST.

Go to whatwherewhen.lakesoffire.org to tell us all about your events.

SO YOU WANNA BE A RADIO LEAD!

Guess what! If you are able to be sober for a 6 hour shift, like making new friends (or working with old ones!), like to have volunteer hours be accounted for, can handle being The Adult for the shift (but not TOO adult) and like being part of the Instrumental Success of the organization then this position is for you. As an added bonus this year we’ll be located in the GAYrage so we have a nice secure location away from the elements and you’ll still have a prime view of all the fun happening.

We are looking to fill the following hours:

  • Fri 2 am to 8 am (Overnight)
  • Fri 8 pm to Sat 2 am
  • Sat 8 am to 2 pm
  • Sat 2 pm to 8 pm (Pre-Burn)
  • Sat 8 pm to Sun 2 am (BURN)
  • Sun 2 am to 8 am (Overnight)
  • Sun 2 pm to 8 pm (Exodus)

If you are interested, please email radios@lakesoffire.org with your preferred shift and the email you use for your Volunteeripate account.

These will fill as a first come first serve. If you have any questions on what this role fully entails, please email us so we can help put your heart at ease.

Note – if you are in a critical role already, DO NOT DROP YOUR SHIFT. Please stay in the critically needed role as you are doing the Good Good.

Volunteers Needed: Help Make Lakes of Fire 2025 a Success

Lakes of Fire runs on the energy, passion, and elbow grease of its community. Every year, hundreds of volunteers step up to make the burn happen, and this year, we still have a significant number of open shifts across all departments. We need you.

This isn’t just about keeping the lights on. Volunteering is how the event stays safe, how the gates open on time, how the art gets lit, and how thousands of participants have the experience of a lifetime. Without enough volunteers in every department, we risk gaps in coverage that affect everyone on site. The burn depends on you showing up.

Why Volunteer?

Beyond the satisfaction of being a core part of something extraordinary, volunteers receive exclusive Lakes of Fire swag as a thank-you for their time and service. You’ll work alongside some of the most creative, dedicated, and hilarious humans you’ve ever met. You’ll gain skills, make friends, and leave knowing you didn’t just attend the burn — you helped build it.

Volunteering also gives you a deeper connection to the event than you can get any other way. When you’ve spent a shift on the gate, hauled ice at the Commodification Station, or helped keep participants safe through the night, you’ll feel the burn in your bones in a way that never goes away.

How to Sign Up

Signing up is easy. Head to Volunteeripate to browse open shifts by department and time slot. Pick what works for your schedule, sign up, and show up ready to be part of something special.

If you have questions about a specific department or role, reach out to us directly — we’re happy to help you find the right fit.

Lakes of Fire is built by its community, for its community. The art, the fire, the magic — none of it happens without people like you deciding to be part of making it real. Shifts are still open. The burn needs you. Come help us make it happen.

The clock is ticking, and if you are like me, you haven’t even started that art project you thought about in December.  Have no fear, though, because whatever you can bring, even if it is just yourself, will be amazing.  Look forward to welcoming you to our new home soon.

If you’d like to contribute to event organization throughout the year, please apply here or reach out to a department lead. If you would like to sign up to transform this new property into our new home, then fill out this form. If you are not a skilled tradesperson, fill out the other slot and let us know what you can do.

If you’re not receiving the Lakes Letter (this thing!) in your inbox each month, consider signing up. It’s your best source to stay up-to-date on all the details. While you’re there, sign up for volunteering updates from individual departments if you’d like.

May the sunshine light your path and the stars be the glitter that brings sparkle to your night.

xoxo,
