Lakes Letter-March 28, 2025

Reminders

Rangers Have Gone Virtual

You heard that right, if you have ever wanted to volunteer for a ranger shift but could never make it to the trainings this is your year!  A training module that covers all of the same material and certifies you to volunteer as a ranger onsite is now available.  You will need a Volunteeripate account to take the training.

The Rangers are still offering a few in person and video conference trainings if that is more your style of learning.  Check out their page for more details.

We Need Your Votes!

The ideas have been submitted and the ballot has been created.  Now it is up to you to caste your vote for your favorite theme idea for 2026.  Yes, you could help decide what next year’s running joke will be by simply filling out this form with your top three choices.

We take the top five choices from our community and submit those to our leads group for final selection.  All will be reveled as you exit the event this year and in the August 2025 newsletter.  So vote now as the polls close on April 12, 2025 at 11:59 pm EST.

Do You Have a Theme Camp?

Placement needs all of your details in order to make everyone’s walk around the lake as entertaining as possible.  They can’t do that if they don’t know who you are or what you are planning to bring.  So make sure you fill out this form, sign into your Volunteeripate account first, and tell them all the things.

Form closes April 26, 2025 at 11:59 EST so get those ducks in a row!

Also make sure to coordinate with all of your campmates on infrastructure, personal tent size, event offerings, and who is filling out the form.

Volunteer Directed Ticket Program Changes for Lakes of Fire 2026 and Beyond

*This does not effect 2026 Volunteer Ticket offers*

We are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and passion our volunteers bring to creating the magic of Lakes of Fire. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are making an important adjustment to our volunteer expectations to ensure the event remains sustainable and well-supported.

Since 2016, the Volunteer Directed Ticket Program has remained the same. However, beginning with Lakes of Fire 2026, the minimum required volunteer hours to qualify for ticket incentives will increase:

Volunteer Directed Ticket Offer: Increasing from 8 hours → 12 hours

Discounted Vol. Dir. Ticket Offer: Increasing from 16 hours → 20 hours

This means that hours worked at Lakes of Fire 2026 will determine eligibility for the 2027 ticket program.

This decision was made after careful consideration of the event’s needs, feedback from past volunteers, and our commitment to fostering a strong, engaged, and thriving volunteer community.

We understand this is a significant change, and we want to hear from YOU! Please take a few moments to complete our survey and share your thoughts on how this may impact your volunteer experience.

Your feedback is invaluable in shaping the future of our event, and we appreciate your input. Thank you for all that you do to make Lakes of Fire an unforgettable experience for everyone.
