UPDATE ON EVENT DATES – JAN 5TH, 2023
Update on Event Dates || Art Grants Deadline Extended to Jan 20th
UPDATE ON EVENT DATES
If you’ve been looking forward to Lakes of Fire 2023 then probably you’ve been patiently waiting to hear our official event dates. Sadly, we have to ask you for more patience. Long-timers in our community know the dates of Electric Forest have been a consideration for our event. This year Electric Forest is expanding to Lucky Lake. Their pre-event setup will be occurring during the Father’s Day weekend, which has been the traditional time frame of Lakes of Fire. Father’s Day weekend will not be the date we return home to Lucky Lake in 2023.
You can trust that your Board of Directors is working hard to finalize our contract and secure a new date. In talking to our core volunteers and Department leads, we identified two options: move to early June or later to mid-July. We decided against moving the date earlier in June. Many teachers, parents, and families who help make our Burn possible would not be able to join. Thus we are looking ahead to July.
Moving our dates out means our overall timeline will move back accordingly. You can expect Ticket sales may begin later in 2023 than they did in 2022. We’ll continue to keep you updated as we get more information.
ART GRANTS DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JAN 20TH
With our change in dates it is important to give our art grant applicants additional time to apply, and to make sure they will be able to bring their art to Lucky Lake in July rather than June. The Art Grants deadline has been extended from January 6th to January 20th. If you have any questions about your art grant or your application, please contact arthub@lakesoffire.org.

On the sunny side, the odds that Lucky Lake will have a hailstorm in July are much lower. Theoretically. Fingers crossed…
